📝 Quick summary of key information
What is a whale and how do its magical songs echo in the ocean?
A whale is a giant sea mammal that lives in the ocean. It can be up to 30 meters long, as tall as a 10-story building! Whales have smooth skin and powerful fins that help them swim with grace.
Whales use songs to talk to each other. These songs can travel long distances underwater, like secret messages between friends. Scientists think these songs help them find a partner or navigate the ocean.
Whales live in groups called 'pods'. They swim together, play and eat plankton or small fish. Some whales, like humpback whales, are even known for making amazing jumps out of the water, a wonderful sight to see!
Whales are very important for the ocean. They help keep the fish population in balance by eating plankton, which lets other sea animals thrive. Plus, they make the ocean richer by releasing nutrients when they come up to the surface to breathe.

The Meeting with Whale Bella
After watching the hypnotic (1) movements of Seahorse Hugo, Sirio and Sirena, the young dolphins, let themselves be carried by the ocean currents. Their curiosity leads them to explore new horizons (2). That's when they hear an enchanting (3) melody (4) echoing in the depths of the ocean. Intrigued, they decide to follow this sweet music, hoping to find its source.
Sirio, curious, asks:
« What is this music? »
Sirena, curious, says:
« I don't know. Let's go see. »
Not long after, they spot a huge gray shape. It's Whale Bella. She swims gracefully, and her gentle eyes shine under the water. Sirio and the girl with violet hair and a turquoise tail that sparkles in the sunlight are amazed.
Sirio, curious, asks:
« Hello Bella. Is it you who is singing? »
Whale Bella, with her soft and melodious voice, says:
« Yes. My song travels far. It speaks to other whales. »
Sirena, amazed, says:
« It's magical! »
Whale Bella, with a soft and melodious voice, explains:
« Yes. My song tells stories. It talks about the mysteries of the ocean. »
Whale Bella sends them a clue in the form of sound vibrations and shares a fascinating (5) tale about the mysteries of the deep sea.
The Mystery of the Depths
A clue is sent by Whale Bella in the form of sound vibrations, and a fascinating story about the mysteries of the deep sea is shared. Sirio and Sirena listen carefully, their eyes shining with curiosity. They learn that whale songs tell about ocean currents and secrets hidden at the bottom of the ocean.
Sirio, curious, asks:
« The ocean currents? »
Whale Bella, with a soft and melodious voice, explains:
« Yes, they help to find your way in the ocean currents. »
Sirena, eyes sparkling with understanding, said:
« Ah, I understand better now! Ocean currents are really important for sailing in the ocean. Thank you, Whale Bella, for this lesson! »
Whale Bella, with a soft and melodious voice, says:
« My songs also talk about dangers. They warn the other whales. »
Whale Bella then tells them about her travels across the oceans. She talks about meeting other whales and having amazing experiences. Sirio and Sirena listen in awe, learning about how important whales are to the ocean's ecosystem (6).
After listening to the magical vibrations of Whale Bella, Sirio and Sirena continue their exploration. They are then guided by the ocean currents, which Bella told them about, to a new encounter. An octopus, Octopus Pippa, is discovered by the dolphins. She can change color to camouflage among the corals. She takes them into a world of mysteries and puzzles (7) to solve with her eight tentacles. The dolphins, armed with new knowledge about whale songs, are ready to face new adventures and discover even more secrets hidden in the depths of the ocean.
