📝 Quick summary of key information

How do butterflies help flowers grow?

Butterflies are little artists of nature. They help flowers make babies by carrying pollen from one flower to another. It's like they are winged messengers, making sure flowers can have babies.

Adult butterflies eat flower nectar, just like we drink fruit juice. Caterpillars, on the other hand, eat leaves. They need to eat a lot to grow and change.

Butterflies live in many places like gardens, forests, and meadows. They love places with lots of flowers to eat and rest.

Butterflies go through several stages of development: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and finally adult butterfly. It's like a magical metamorphosis, where they completely change shape.

The Butterfly and the Flower Dance

How do butterflies help flowers grow?

The Discovery of the Butterfly Palace

Having learned about the importance of ladybugs in the garden during a memorable spring adventure, Lili, with her red and black spots, and Gaston, the hungry and adventurous beetle, set off to explore Rainbow Meadow. The air is fresh, and the bright colors promise a new adventure. After crossing Giant Mushroom Forest, they spot the Butterfly Palace in the distance, a bush filled with colorful butterflies swirling and creating magical patterns(1) in the sky. A butterfly named Floria, with translucent(2)(3) wings and intricate patterns of sky-blue and emerald-green(4) spots, teaches them to dance like her, following the flowers in the wind. While playing, they unknowingly help to carry pollen!

Lili, amazed, says:
« Look, Gaston! All these butterflies! »

Gaston, amazed, says:
« Wow! It's wonderful! »

Lili, eyes sparkling, says:
« I want to go play with them! »

Gaston, excited by this new adventure, says:
« Let's go! »

After walking a few meters, a butterfly named Floria comes to them. Floria has translucent wings with beautiful blue and green patterns.

After admiring Floria the butterfly's beautiful wings, Gaston is invited to dance with her. Floria shows him how to follow the flowers in the wind, making graceful(5) movements. By dancing like this, they help to carry pollen from one flower to another without even knowing it, helping with pollination. Lili, on the other hand, watches the scene with curiosity and joy, exploring the flowers around her.

The Flower Dance

Lili and Gaston start to copy Floria the butterfly's movements. They jump from flower to flower, feeling the softness of the petals under their tiny feet.

Lili, amazed, says:
« It's soft! »

Gaston, as he hops from flower to flower, says:
« This is fun! »

Lili, amazed, says:
« Look, Gaston! Our feet are carrying yellow grains. »

Gaston, looking at the yellow grains, says:
« It's pollen! »

Lili and Gaston learn how Floria the butterfly uses her delicate legs to feel the flowers and find the sweet nectar(6). By watching Floria the butterfly, they understand that this is how they have carried pollen without knowing it. After dancing and playing, it is noticed that Lili and Gaston feel tired but happy.

Now that they have danced with Floria the butterfly and spread pollen with their new skill, a soft but persistent buzzing(7) is heard by Lili and Gaston. Curious to find out where it comes from, they follow the sound to the Rainbow Meadow. That's where a golden hive hides the precious secret that bees have been making forever: honey!
