📝 Quick summary of key information

How does Hector the Hedgehog protect himself from danger?

The hedgehog uses its spikes to protect itself from dangers. When it feels threatened, it rolls into a ball, hiding its head, paws, and belly. Its pointy spikes then form an effective defensive barrier against predators.

Hedgehogs mainly live in gardens, forests, and meadows. They are very adaptable and can hide in piles of leaves, under bushes, or even in shelters built by people. They like places where they can find food and feel safe.

The hedgehog plays an important role in its ecosystem. It mostly eats insects, worms, and small animals, which helps control their population. By eating harmful insects, it helps keep the natural balance in its environment.

The hedgehog is a nocturnal animal, which means it is active at night. During the day, it rests in safe shelters. At night, it goes out to look for food and explore its territory. Its eyesight and sense of smell are very good, which helps it move in the dark.

In winter, the hedgehog hibernates to survive the cold. Before winter, it eats a lot to build up fat reserves. During hibernation, its body slows down and it sleeps deeply in a well-hidden shelter, like a nest of leaves or a burrow.

Hector the Hedgehog and the Shooting Stars

How does the hedgehog protect himself from dangers?

The Meeting with Hector

After watching Oscar the badger dig his burrow(1), Nox the brown and golden owl and Luma the bat were suddenly drawn to a glow in the sky. A shooting star crossed their path, filling their heads with dreams and a mystery(2) to solve. Intrigued(3), they were led to follow the Firefly Trail to find out more. Nox, with his big, silent, brown wings, was seen flying ahead, while Luma, with her translucent purple wings, sparkled in the darkness, drawing magical shapes in the air. That's when they met Hector the Hedgehog, who was looking for food while admiring the shooting stars.

Nox, with wide eyes, shouts:
« Luma, did you see that? »

Luma, excited, says:
« Yes, Nox! A shooting star! »

Soon after, Nox and Luma met Hector the Hedgehog. Hector, with his little pink nose that is always wiggling, was busy smelling the forest scents. He was looking for food while admiring the shooting stars. That's when he told them about an old myth(4). According to the myth, a shooting star had fallen on the Owl Plain(5)… What if this star held a clue to their mystery?

Nox, curious, asks:
« Hi Hector! What are you doing here? »

Hector the Hedgehog, while sniffing the air, says:
« I am looking for insects. I love starry nights. »

Luma, excited, shouts:
« We saw a shooting star! »

Hector the Hedgehog, amazed, says:
« Wow, a shooting star! It's magical. »

Hector the Hedgehog then told them about an old myth. According to the myth, a shooting star had fallen on the Owl Plain. This star, it was said, hid a precious clue that could shed light on their mystery. What if this star really hid a clue to their quest?

The Owl Meadow

Curious, Nox and Luma listened carefully to Hector the Hedgehog. They imagined shooting stars falling onto the plain.

Nox, eyes shining, says:
« It's a beautiful story, Hector the Hedgehog. »

Luma, eyes shining with excitement, says:
« Yes, and what if we go and see? »

Hector the Hedgehog, excited by this adventure, says:
« Let's go! The night is young. »

They went together to the Owl Meadow. The moon lit their way. Hector the Hedgehog walked in front, Nox watched them from the trees, and Luma flew behind them.

Nox, intrigued, exclaims:
« Look, shiny pebbles! »

Luma, amazed, says:
« Look at the shooting stars! »

Nox and Luma were curious about Hector the Hedgehog's story of a shooting star that fell in Owl Meadow. They decided to go on an adventure right away. As always, Luma flew into the air in a flash to make sure everything was okay. Together, they followed the secret path leading to the Glowing(6) Cave, ready to discover new wonders and solve the mystery of the shooting stars. Who knows what other adventures awaited them in this secret world of nighttime(7) animals?
