📝 Quick summary of key information
Why do hippos love to cool off in the water and how does it protect them?
Hippos love to cool off in the water. It helps them control their body temperature. In Africa, where they live, it is often very hot. The water helps them stay cool and not get too hot.
Water also protects their sensitive skin. Hippopotamuses have very thin skin that can easily get sunburned. By staying in the water, they avoid sunburn and protect themselves from bugs that might bother them.
Hippopotamuses live near rivers and lakes. They spend the day in the water and come out at night to eat grass. They also like to rest in the mud, which helps keep their skin healthy.
Hippopotamuses play an important role in their environment. By eating grass, they help keep the balance of plants around the rivers. They also make paths in the water, which helps other animals move around more easily.

The Cool Break
After exploring Wonder Hill, Zuma and Zara, the young zebras, headed towards the Lake of Illusions. Joining Zuma and Zara with his heavy steps, Hippo shared the sight of the mysterious (1) path that seemed to lead to a secret place. Thanks to his big body and his deep (2) knowledge of the savannah (3), Hippo could spot details that other animals might not have seen. Hippo, with his warm heart and wisdom, was always ready to share his knowledge and guide his friends on their adventures.
Zuma, curious, asks:
« Hippo, why do you love mud so much? »
Hippo, with his soft and soothing voice, explains:
« The water cools my skin. It protects my body from the heat. »
Zara, curious, asks:
« Is that true, Hippo? »
Hippo, with a kind smile, says:
« Yes, Zara. Water is very important. It keeps my skin wet. »
After listening to Hippo, Zuma and Zara decided to go for a swim. They followed Hippo into the lake. The water was cool and nice. Hippo dove deeper. He found a strange stone.
Hippo, amazed, says:
« Look, there is a symbol on this stone. »
Zuma, curious, asks:
« What is that, Hippo? »
Hippo, curious, explains:
« It's an old symbol. It shines under the water. »
While diving into a magic lake, he finds an old symbol carved on a stone underwater, adding an important piece to the puzzle leading to the Tree of Life.
The Discovery of the Ancient Symbol
After their discovery in the magic lake, Zara came out of the water. She looked at Hippo with wide eyes. She was amazed by the ancient symbol.
Zuma, amazed, asks:
« It's magical, Hippo. What does it mean? »
Zara, curious, asks:
« Yes, Hippo. Why does this symbol shine? »
Hippo, with a calm and reassuring voice, says:
« This symbol talks about the Tree of Life. It is very old. »
Hippo came out of the water with the stone. He showed it to the two zebras. He explained that this symbol was very important. He talked about the Tree of Life, a magic tree.
Zuma, curious, asks:
« The Tree of Life? What is it? »
Zara, curious, says:
« Yes, Hippo. Tell us. »
Hippo, with a calm and reassuring voice, explains:
« The Tree of Life gives life to the savannah. It is very precious. »
After their refreshing break, a new adventure awaited Zuma, Zara and Hippo. While exploring, they found out they were not alone; a loud (4) noise echoed across the plain (5). This mysterious sound led them to a clearing (6) where they discovered a rare plant, known for its healing (7) powers. Hippo, with his wisdom, explained that this plant was essential for the health of the savanna animals. Zuma and Zara, amazed, decided to protect this plant and continue their adventures to discover more wonders of the savanna.
