📝 Quick summary of key information
Why do lions roar and what do their roars tell us?
The lion roars to talk to other lions. It's like he's saying to his friends where he is or warning strangers. The roar can be heard up to 8 kilometers away.
Lion roars tell us a lot. For example, a lion that roars loudly might be angry or protecting its territory. Lions also roar to get the attention of other members of their group.
Lions live in a group called a pride. They hunt together to catch prey like zebras or antelopes. Lionesses do most of the hunting work, while male lions protect the pride.
Lions mainly live in the savannas and grasslands of Africa. They love places with lots of grass and trees to hide in. Lions are top predators in the food chain, which means they have no natural enemies.

Leo Lion and the Words of Old
Why do lions roar and what do their roars tell us?
The Ancient Roar
After their refreshing swim, Zuma, Zara and their friends watched Hugo, a graceful hippopotamus, use his big body to move the water. The group learned that Hugo uses this bath as a cool cover against the hot sun, while protecting himself with his thick skin. Soon after, Zuma, Zara and their friends head towards Wonder Hill, guided by Leo Lion. They are excited to discover the secrets hidden in this majestic (1) region.
Zuma, curious about his friend's powerful roar, asks:
« Leo Lion, why are you roaring so loudly? »
Leo Lion, with a strong and serious voice, explains:
« My roar marks my territory. It protects the savannah. It keeps intruders away. »
Zara, curious, asks:
« That's interesting. And what does your roar say? »
Leo Lion, with a deep and serious voice, explains:
« Every roar tells a story. It's a secret language of the savannah. »
Zuma, curious, asks:
« How do we understand these stories? »
Leo Lion, with wisdom beyond his years, says:
« Look and listen to nature. The key is there. »
Leo Lion reveals a message carved on a stone, containing a crucial (2) clue (3) about the next step of their journey to the Tree of Life. Zuma and Zara, amazed, already imagine the many adventures these roars could reveal.
The Carved Message
Zuma and Zara look closely at the carvings (4). They are amazed by the stories that this roar seems to tell.
Zuma, eyes shining with curiosity, exclaims:
« I want to roar like you, Leo Lion. »
Leo Lion, with an encouraging smile, says:
« Try, Zuma. But it's not easy. »
Zuma, trying to roar like Leo Lion, says:
« Rrrrr. I'm just roaring. »
Zara, amazed, says:
« Look at these carvings, Leo Lion. They tell stories. »
Leo Lion, with a calm and wise voice, says:
« Yes, Zara. Each carving is a legend. Listen carefully to the roars. »
As they enter a bright meadow, they are greeted by Eloi. The wise (5) Elephant Eloi, with his big ears, listens to the warm winds and sounds of the savannah. This wise elephant joins the team by sharing old legends (6) about the Tree of Life, adding to the mystery of their quest. Zuma, Zara, and Leo Lion, with their new knowledge, are ready to continue their adventure towards the Tree of Life. They now know that every roar, every sound of the savannah, hides a fascinating story and secrets to be discovered. With determination and curiosity, they head towards the next step of their journey, ready to uncover new mysteries and protect their beloved Enchanted Savanna Kingdom. Zuma, the young, energetic, and brave zebra with black and white stripes like a rainbow under the sun, is ready to help his friends continue their quest. Zara, the curious and imaginative young zebra with colorful stripes, with a smile always ready to shine under the sun, is also ready to help her friends continue their quest.
