📝 Quick summary of key information

Why do elephants have big ears and what are they for?

Elephants have big ears that work like natural fans. They help keep their bodies cool, especially in hot places. Imagine ears flapping like fans to keep the elephant cool!

Elephants' big ears help them hear sounds from far away. This is very useful for spotting predators or finding water. With their ears, they can hear noises that we can't even notice!

Elephants use their ears to talk to each other. They can show their feelings, like anger or fear, by moving their ears in different ways. For example, when they are angry, they can flap them quickly.

African elephants have bigger ears than Asian elephants. This helps them cool down in hot and dry places. Elephants live in groups called herds, led by an older female called the matriarch.

Elephant Eloi, the Giant with Big Ears

Why do elephants have big ears and what are they for?

The Secrets of the Big Ears

After hearing the powerful roar of Lion Leo, Zuma and Zara understood the importance of traditions and legends. Lions, guardians of the savannah's mysteries(1), had passed on ancient knowledge. As they continued their journey, the zebras knew that each roar carried stories and valuable lessons. That's when they met Elephant Eloi, an old friend, who greeted them with a warm smile. Eloi, with his big ears and light gray skin, was always ready to share his knowledge about the savannah.

Elephant Eloi, with a kind smile, explains:
« My big ears are very useful. They help me cool down. »

Zuma, curious, asks:
« How do they do that? »

Elephant Eloi, with a gentle smile, explains: « They clear away(2) the sun's heat. They also help me hear faraway sounds. »

Zara, admiring, says:
« That's true. You always hear everything. »

Elephant Eloi, gently swinging his ears, says: « Yes, it's very useful for surviving in the savanna. Using his big ears, he hears whispers(3) carried by the wind that reveal the existence of a mystical place nearby. »

Zuma and Zara, curious, decided to follow Elephant Eloi to discover this mysterious place. They knew that each discovery brought them closer to the secrets of the savannah.

The Quest for the Tree of Life

After following Elephant Eloi, Zuma and Zara discovered a secret clearing(4). Sunbeams filtered through the leaves of the trees, making shiny patterns on the ground. They sat down to listen to Elephant Eloi's explanations.

Elephant Eloi, with a thoughtful look, starts to explain:
« You know, my big ears help me hear whispers carried by the wind. Because of them, I heard about a magical place nearby. They also help me hear the sounds of other animals and spot dangers. »

Zuma, amazed, says:
« Wow. You hear everything. »

Zara, thinking for a moment, said:
« Yes, that's very useful. We should learn to listen better. »

Elephant Eloi, with a soft and gentle voice, says:
« It's important. Listening is also protecting. »

The whispers Elephant Eloi heard with his big ears led them on a new adventure. As they followed the clues, they discovered amazing(5) landscapes and learned how to protect their environment. Eloi, with his big ears, kept sharing his knowledge about the savanna, showing Zuma and Zara how important it is to respect nature and live in harmony(6) with it. As they got closer to the Enchanted(7) Forest, they knew new discoveries awaited them. Their next adventure might lead them to even more fascinating secrets hidden deep in the savanna.
