Why does Hedgehog Herald have spikes?

The Meeting with Hedgehog Herald

After watching Rouquie, the little red squirrel jump skillfully between the branches, Forestin and Fleurie are amazed by the agility of this wonderful animal. They understand better how the animals of the forest use every corner‎ (1) of their natural habitat‎ (2). While exploring the forest, the two children discover a hidden path. Forestin, with his endless‎ (3) curiosity‎ (4), and Fleurie, with her curious eyes and spotted coat that reflects the colors of autumn, move forward carefully‎ (5). Suddenly, they spot a small figure‎ (6) moving slowly. It's Hedgehog Herald, their curious friend.

Forestin, curious, asks:
« Hedgehog Herald, what are you doing here? »

Fleurie, curious, asks:
« But why are you moving so slowly? »

Hedgehog Herald, with his sparkling eyes, explains:
« I am looking for an important clue for the forest treasure. I move slowly so I do not scare the animals that might give me clues. My spikes protect me from dangers. »

Forestin, curious, asks:
« Why do you have spikes? »

Hedgehog Herald, with his sparkling eyes, explains:
« My spikes protect me from bigger animals. They let me curl up into a ball. »

Forestin and Fleurie listen carefully, curious about their friend's words. Hedgehog Herald tells them about a secret cave where they might find an important clue about the forest's treasure. The two fawns‎ (7), with growing curiosity, decide to follow Hedgehog Herald to discover this treasure.

The Mysterious Cave

After listening to Hedgehog Herald, Forestin and Fleurie follow the little hedgehog. They walk in silence, their footsteps echo in the forest.

Forestin, curious, asks:
« Hedgehog Herald, where is this cave? »

Hedgehog Herald, after checking the path, whispers:
« It is hidden behind a big rock. We must be careful. »

Fleurie, curious, asks:
« Why is this cave a secret? »

Hedgehog Herald, with a mysterious look, adds:
« It holds old secrets. The forest animals protect it. »

Once they arrived, the three friends discovered the entrance to the cave. They went inside, their eyes adjusting to the darkness. They moved carefully, guided by the faint light of their lanterns.

With curiosity and excitement, the two fawns decided to explore deeper into the cave. Moving carefully, lit by the dim light of their lanterns, Forestin and Fleurie couldn't help but wonder what secrets the cave held. They knew the forest was full of mysteries and treasures to discover, and they were eager to have new adventures with their friend Hedgehog Herald.
