📝 Quick summary of key information
Why are chamois such good climbers?
Chamois are great climbers. They have strong legs and hard hooves that help them climb rocks easily. These hooves are like crampons, giving them a strong grip on steep surfaces.
Chamois live mostly in the mountains of Europe. They love high and rocky places, where they can enjoy the view and escape from predators. Their natural home is often tough, but they feel right at home there.
Chamois are herbivores. They eat grass, leaves, and berries that they find in their mountain home. Their food is varied and fits their life in the mountains.
Chamois use their climbing skills to survive. Their ability to climb quickly helps them escape from predators and find food in places that other animals cannot reach. They often live in groups to protect and support each other.

The Meeting with Chamois Sylvester
As spring arrives and the snow melts high up in the mountains, two furry friends, Lupo the wolf pup and Mila the marmot, get ready for great adventures: they listen with sharp ears to the bleats, moos, and croaks that echo in all directions. Their eyes widen in wonder at the new spring landscape. After exploring the area, Lupo and Mila decide to follow the mysterious (1) footprints they found near Cloud Peak. Their curiosity leads them to climb the steep (2) slopes, where they discover strange-shaped rocks and hidden valleys (3).
Lupo, pointing his nose at the tracks, says:
« Look, Mila, these tracks are big. »
Mila, after looking at the tracks, says:
« Yes, they lead to the Crystal Cave. »
Not long after, they spot Chamois Sylvester. Chamois Sylvester jumps with amazing agility from one rock to another. Lupo and Mila approach Chamois Sylvester, amazed by his leaps.
Lupo, amazed, says:
« Chamois Sylvester, you jump so high! »
Chamois Sylvester, as he jumps from rock to rock, then says: « My hooves (4) are special. They don't slip. »
Mila, curious, asks:
« But how do you never slip? »
Chamois Sylvester explains: « My hooves have a non-slip (5) surface. They help me climb and jump. »
Chamois Sylvester tells them that he saw something huge moving near the Crystal Cave... But what?
The Discovery of the Crystal Cave
Lupo and Mila look at each other, curious (6). They decide to follow Chamois Sylvester to the Crystal Cave. They jump together, watching every detail of the landscape.
Lupo, worried, asks:
« Chamois Sylvester, do you think it's dangerous? »
Chamois Sylvester, after a moment of thought, says:
« I don't know. But we need to go and see. »
Mila, with a determined smile, says:
« We are ready. Let's go. »
They move carefully. The rocks are slippery. Chamois Sylvester jumps from one to the other with no trouble. Lupo and Mila follow, paying close attention.
They arrive at the Crystal Cave. Chamois Sylvester jumps from rock to rock with amazing agility. Lupo and Mila follow close behind. The cave is wonderful. The crystals shine in a thousand colors.
Following the tracks, Lupo and Mila meet Chamois Sylvester, who jumps with amazing agility from one rock to another. Chamois Sylvester tells them he saw something huge moving near the Crystal Cave… But what? Curious, Lupo and Mila decide to follow Chamois Sylvester. Their curiosity leads them to climb even steeper slopes. Chamois Sylvester tells them he saw a mysterious creature near the cave. He promises to help them find out what it is. They know that every corner of the mountain hides (7) fascinating secrets to discover.
