📝 Quick summary of key information
Why does Altan the Royal Eagle fly so high?
The golden eagle is a majestic bird that loves to fly very high in the sky. But why does it do this? By flying so high, the golden eagle can see a large area of land. This helps it spot its prey, like small mammals or other birds.
Besides seeing far, flying high lets the golden eagle glide without too much effort. With its strong wings and sharp eyes, it can watch movements on the ground and swoop down on its prey with great precision. It's like having giant binoculars!
The golden eagle mainly lives in the mountains and wild areas. It builds its nest at the top of cliffs, far from prying eyes. It's a safe place to raise its babies, called eaglets. The eaglets quickly learn to fly and hunt, just like their parents.
Unfortunately, the golden eagle has enemies. Humans can destroy its home by building roads or buildings. That's why it's important to protect these amazing birds and their natural homes. This way, they can keep flying high in the sky and make us happy.

The Royal Eagle and the Mountain Wind
Why does the royal eagle fly so high?
The Meeting with Altan
After meeting Hector the Ibex and learning the secrets of his huge and shiny (1) horns in the mountain sunrise, Lupo the little wolf and Mila the marmot continued their climb. It was while crossing rocky ridges, their paws sometimes slipping on the steep (2) ground under the weight of the cold, that they prepared for their next encounter. The wind blows strongly, but Lupo and Mila are determined to discover what the mountains still hide.
Not long after, Lupo and Mila see a shadow pass over them. It is Altan the Royal Eagle, who soars majestically (3). His pure white (4) feathers (5) shine in the sun, his strong wings cut through the air with grace, and his golden eyes watch every movement below.
Lupo, looking up at the sky, says:
« Look, Mila! It's Altan the Royal Eagle! »
Mila, amazed, shouts:
« Altan the Royal Eagle! He is so high up, with his dark brown feathers and lighter colors on his head and tail! »
Altan, seeing the two friends, gently flew down and landed on a nearby rock. He was greeted with a nod. His dark brown feathers with lighter shades on his head and tail shone in the sun.
Lupo, curious about Altan the Royal Eagle's majestic flight, asks:
« Why do you fly so high, Altan the Royal Eagle? »
Altan the Royal Eagle, with a powerful voice, explains:
« Warm air currents, called thermals, let me glide without effort and watch over a big area. I can spot prey or danger from many kilometers away. »
Altan the Royal Eagle tells them he saw a mysterious animal go into the Crystal Cave. Lupo and Mila look at each other, curious. What will they find?
The Crystal Cave
Lupo and Mila decide to follow Altan the Royal Eagle. They walk towards the sparkling waterfall. Behind the waterfall, a secret entrance appears. Altan the Royal Eagle guides them to the Crystal Cave. They go inside the cave. Altan the Royal Eagle watches them from the entrance, his bright white feathers shine in the sun.
Lupo, amazed, shouts:
« It's wonderful! »
Mila, amazed, says:
« Look at these crystals! »
Lupo, amazed, shouts:
« Yes, they shine like stars! »
Lupo and Mila walk into the cave. They find mysterious footprints. Lupo follows them to a small cave. Mila looks at the crystals around her. Suddenly, a small creature pops out of the shadows.
Lupo, curious, asks:
« Who are you? »
After discovering the mysterious footprints and the little creature in the Crystal Cave, Lupo and Mila are brought to the edge (6) of a ridge by Altan the Royal Eagle. They start down a narrow path, their paws and little paws brushing against the cold rocks as they carefully follow each track. Altan has warned them about strange footprints, probably made by a fabulous (7) creature never seen before. They realize that some caves really do glow in the dark, and their eyes widen at the thought! They promise to return to explore the Crystal Cave to solve the mystery of the footprints. With a last look at the sky, where Altan soars majestically with his pure white feathers, Lupo and Mila continue their adventure, ready to discover new secrets of the mysterious mountains.
