The Toad and the Secret Hideout
Why do toads love to hide under leaves?
The Mysterious Discovery
Under the morning (1) sunbeam (2), Timon the green toad stretches long and sings with his clear voice, while Lila the dragonfly is carried by the gentle breeze (3). Spring has truly arrived, and the whole marsh buzzes with new energy. Water lilies (4) open their wide leaves, and all sorts of animals appear. Timon, with his big golden eyes, watches the surroundings curiously (5). A big floating leaf is spotted, moving slightly. Intrigued, Timon and Lila approach it, their iridescent blue and violet wings shimmering under the sun's rays.
Timon, curious, asks:
« What is under this leaf? »
Lila, with endless curiosity, suggests:
« Let's go see together. »
After going around the leaf, they find Barnaby the Toad, well hidden under the big floating leaf. He watches them with his big round eyes. Timon and Lila are very surprised.
Timon, curious, asks:
« Barnaby the Toad, what are you doing under that leaf? »
Barnaby the Toad, with a friendly smile, explains: « Oh, my friends, you found me! I often hide under leaves to avoid predators. Toads like me love to hide like this to stay safe. It also helps us keep our skin moist, but most importantly, it protects us from the dangers that lurk (6). »
Lila, curious, asks:
« That's interesting! But why are you hiding? »
Barnaby the Toad, with a mysterious look, says:
« I saw a big shadow under the water. I don't know what animal it is. »
Barnaby the Toad tells them that he saw a big shadow slipping under the water, but he doesn't know what animal it is… The mystery grows!
The Marsh Mystery
Timon and Lila are very curious. They want to know more about the big shadow. They decide to follow the trail of the mysterious shadow.
Timon, curious, asks:
« Lila, do you see anything? »
Lila, after watching the water carefully, says:
« No, nothing yet. Let's keep going. »
They move carefully. Lila flies over the water, Timon jumps from lily pad to lily pad. Suddenly, Lila spots a shape under the water.
Lila, after watching the water carefully, says:
« Timon, I see something under the water. »
Timon, excited, shouts:
« It's the big shadow! Let's go see. »
Curious about the mystery of the big shadow, Timon and Lila decide to follow the ripples (7) to find out more. By following the stream to a wider part of the river, they discover a peaceful spot where a big leaf was floating. Under this leaf, Barnaby the Toad, well hidden, watches them. Curious, Timon and Lila approach and discover Barnaby. He tells them that he saw a big shadow slip under the water, but he doesn't know what animal it is… The mystery grows!
