📝 Quick summary of key information
Why are butterflies important for flowers?
Pollination is a magical process where flowers make babies. Butterflies play a big part in this process. As they fly from flower to flower, they carry pollen, a fine powder, that helps flowers make baby flowers.
Butterflies help with pollination by landing on flowers to drink nectar. While they drink, pollen grains stick to their legs and wings. Then, when they go to another flower, they drop the pollen, helping the flowers reproduce.
Flowers need to make new plants to grow. This keeps gardens beautiful and forests green. Without making new plants, there would be no new flowers or plants.
Other animals like bees help with pollination too. They fly from flower to flower, carrying pollen and helping plants grow. Protecting butterflies and bees is important to keep our gardens and forests healthy.

The Butterfly Dance
After the frog concert at Happy Creek, Little Pig and Chevrette discovered that every croak (1) of the frogs had a special meaning. The little friends learned how these charming frogs communicate with each other and with nature. Soon after, they decided to explore another mystery of the farm. One sunny morning, as they walked through Rainbow Meadow, they spotted colorful butterflies dancing gracefully among the flowers. Intrigued, they decided to follow these magnificent creatures to learn more about their role in nature.
Little Pig, amazed, says:
« Look Chevrette, the butterflies fly from flower to flower. »
Chevrette, eyes sparkling with curiosity, says:
« Yes, they stop on each petal. It's pretty. »
Little Pig, curious, asks:
« Why do they do that? »
Chevrette, curious, says:
« I don't know. Let's watch carefully. »
After watching carefully, the friends noticed that the butterflies carried pollen (2) grains on their legs and wings. They were told that these pollen grains were very important for flowers to make seeds and grow more flowers. The butterflies, with their bright colors, caught the friends' attention and showed them how important their role is in nature.
The friends were amazed by this discovery and decided to follow the butterflies even further to learn more.
Magic Pollination
Soon after, Little Pig and Chevrette followed the butterflies to Rainbow Meadow. They saw the butterflies land on different flowers and rub their bodies against the stamens (3).
Little Pig, curious, asks:
« Why do butterflies do that? »
Chevrette, curious, says:
« I don't know. Let's keep watching. »
Little Pig, amazed, says:
« Look, they carry pollen on their bodies. »
Chevrette, amazed, says:
« Yes, it's amazing. They help flowers make babies. »
The friends understood that butterflies are very important pollinators (4). They decided to protect these precious insects so that the flowers can keep growing.
As Little Pig and Chevrette finished their day watching the butterflies dance, they were curious about how these insects helped (5) the Rainbow Meadow. Their curiosity led them to explore other parts of their environment. That's when they heard Vachette, the kind milk cow, calling them. They went to her to find out why her milk was so special and how it helped the little animals grow. The friends learned that every part of the farm had an important role and that they all needed to work together to keep their environment harmonious (6) and beautiful.
