📝 Quick summary of key information

How do flowers talk to bugs?

Flowers use their bright colors and sweet scents to attract insects. Imagine a party where the flowers are the hosts and the insects are the guests!

Bugs visit flowers to eat nectar and pollen. It's like the flowers offer a special buffet for their six-legged friends.

When insects land on flowers, they carry pollen from one flower to another. This process is called pollination.

Pollination is very important for plants. It helps them make seeds and fruits, which helps new plants grow.

The Dream of Talking Flowers

How do flowers talk to insects?

Rainbow Meadow

After the magic mud, which makes plants grow faster, was discovered, the secret is shared with Little Pig's friends. Chevrette, the mischievous and energetic little goat, and the other farm animals are amazed by this discovery. Together, they learn how the mud helps plants grow faster and healthier. One day, while they are walking in Rainbow Meadow, soft and colorful whispers are heard. Curious, Little Pig and Chevrette decide to follow these sounds to find out where they come from. They remember that, in Rainbow Meadow, the flowers tell their dreams and explain how they talk to the insects. They realize that these whispers come from the flowers themselves.

Little Pig, curious, asks:
« Chevrette, do you hear that? »

Chevrette, curious, says:
« Yes, Little Pig. It seems like the flowers are talking. »

Little Pig, curious, suggests:
« Let's go see where it comes from. »

Not long after, they arrive near a field of flowers. The colors are bright and the scents are sweet. Bees, butterflies, and flies are flying around. The friends watch carefully. Each flower has a unique color and scent. The insects land on the flowers. They drink the sweet nectar(1).

Chevrette, with her eyes wide open, exclaims:
« Little Pig, the flowers talk to the insects. »

Little Pig, curious, wonders out loud:
« I wonder how they talk to the insects? »

Chevrette, naughty and full of energy, then explains:
« Yes, they attract them with their colors and their scents. But that's not all! They also release special chemicals that insects can smell. It's like they speak a secret language that only insects understand. »

The friends discover that flowers talk to insects to get pollinated and to make new flowers(2). The insects help with pollination(3) when they visit the flowers. The flowers give nectar in return. There is a secret and magical communication between the flowers and the insects. The friends are amazed by this discovery.

Magical Pollination

Little Pig and Chevrette keep watching the bees. They see the little fuzzy legs of the bees landing on the flowers. The bees take pollen and carry it from one flower to another. The friends are amazed by this dance between the flowers and the bees.

Little Pig, amazed, says:
« Chevrette, bees help flowers reproduce. »

Chevrette, with a mischievous smile, explains:
« Yes, Little Pig. They carry the pollen. The flowers make new seeds. »

Little Pig, curious, says:
« Flowers talk to bees with their colors and scents. »

Chevrette, with a mischievous smile, explains:
« That's right. Bees love bright colors and sweet smells. They come to drink the nectar. »

The friends learn that flowers give nectar to bees. The bees help the flowers in return. A beautiful friendship(4) exists between the flowers and the insects. Little Pig and Chevrette are happy about this discovery.

Now that Little Pig and Chevrette have learned the secrets(5) of the flowers and insects, they decide to share their new knowledge. Chevrette, full of energy, suggests organizing a big race where every animal can show off their talents. It's the perfect chance for all the farm friends, like the border collie and the thoroughbred(6) horse, to find out why exercising regularly is so important. Together, they run, jump, and play, discovering the benefits of physical activity. The day ends with a big party where all the animals celebrate their new discoveries and their friendship. They now know that nature is full of magical secrets and that they can always learn more by exploring together.
