Why do some stories make us cry on stage?

The Shadow Puppet Stage

After listening to the adventures of Molière and discovering the secrets of eternal laughter, Léo and Mina leave the theater with a smile. A bat flies over them and guides them to a new stage(1). They then discover an enchanted scene where shadows tell silent stories. Intrigued, they approach and see shapes(2) moving with grace and emotion. The scene is bathed in a soft and mysterious light, creating a nearly magical atmosphere.

Léo, eyes wide open, exclaims:
« Look, Mina, shadows are dancing. »

Mina, fascinated, whispers:
« Yes, they are telling a story. »

Léo, with his eyes wide open, shouts:
« I see a prince and a princess. »

Mina whispers then:
« And they look sad. »

Soon after, the shadows move with amazing smoothness(3). Every movement tells part of the story. Léo and Mina watch, captivated, as the shadows show joy, sadness, and determination. A shiny tear falls to the ground, revealing a new symbol: a black feather, a sign of a new chapter in their quest.

The Secrets of the Sad Stories

After watching the dancing shadows, Léo and Mina pick up the black feather. It shines and changes color. They are curious and follow it. The feather leads them to a secret door. They open it and discover a room full of wonderful costumes.

Léo, amazed, says:
« Look at all these clothes. »

Mina, amazed, whispers:
« Yes, they are wonderful. »

Léo, eyes sparkling, exclaims:
« I want to try this one. »

Mina, smiling, says:
« And this one is mine. »

After putting on their costumes, Léo and Mina look at themselves in a big mirror. They see that they have turned into storybook characters. Léo becomes a brave prince and Mina becomes a graceful dancer with a starry tutu and shiny ribbons in her hair. They start to dance and act out roles. The magic of the room wraps around them, and they feel alive in their new selves.

After watching the dancing shadows and discovering the secrets of the tragedies(4)(5), Léo and Mina are invited by a white crow to step onto a spinning stage. It rises and takes them through the sets(6)(7) of Shakespeare's plays, like Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet. They find out why the stories of this great playwright(8)(9) are performed all around the world. Léo and Mina, amazed, understand that tragedies are stories that touch people's hearts, making them feel deep and intense emotions. They promise to keep exploring the mysteries of theater and to discover new adventures together. The spinning stage then brings them back to the Enchanted Grand Theater, where they are greeted with warm applause. They now know that every story, every emotion, has its place on stage, and that they still have so much to learn and discover.
