📝 Quick summary of key information

Have you ever talked to a famous writer?

Maybe not, but you surely know their stories! Authors like La Fontaine, Victor Hugo, and William Shakespeare wrote works that still live today. La Fontaine is famous for his fables, like 'The Crow and the Fox'. Hugo wrote novels like 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame', and Shakespeare created plays like 'Romeo and Juliet'.

The stories of these writers are still read today because they have powerful ideas. They talk about love, wisdom, and life lessons. For example, Aesop's fables often show how animals can teach us important things.

Writers find their ideas in the world around them. They watch people, animals, and nature. For example, Shakespeare got his ideas from love and tragedy stories he saw around him. Hugo, on the other hand, got his ideas from big cities and the people he met.

These writers wrote different kinds of stories. La Fontaine wrote fables, which are short stories with a lesson. Hugo wrote novels, which are long stories with lots of details. Shakespeare wrote plays, which are stories told by actors on a stage.

The Hall of Famous Feathers

Have you ever talked to a famous writer?

Meeting the Famous Feathers

After exploring shelves(1) that seemed to go on forever in the Never-Ending Library, Éline and Jasper discovered hidden passages thanks to a little gray mouse. Suddenly, a door opens and the children find a magical living room where three feathers float in the air. Éline, with her dress made of parchment(2) and a golden feather tucked in her curly(3) hair, and Jasper, with his letter-shaped glasses and a cape made of flying pages, look at each other with wide-eyed wonder(4). They had never seen such a sight. The feathers, shiny and colorful, seemed to invite them in.

Jasper, amazed, says:
« This is amazing, Éline. It looks like the feathers are dancing. »

Éline, amazed, says: « Look, Jasper. They are making shapes(5). »

Soon after, the feathers spin around(6). They take human shape. Éline and Jasper watch in awe. The first figure is of a man with a wig(7) and fancy clothes. He smiles warmly. The second figure is of a young boy with curly hair and bright, curious eyes. He holds a goose feather. The third figure wears a dark cape and a feathered hat.

Jasper, curious, asks:
« Who are they, Éline? »

Éline, curious, whispers:
« I don't know, Jasper. They seem to be waiting for us. »

Each one gives them a little magical item – a word, a rhyme, a picture – to keep for their quest. Éline gets a golden word. Jasper gets a sparkling rhyme. Together, they get ready to discover the secrets of writing. A new adventure begins.

The Secrets of the Writers

Éline and Jasper look at each other, amazed. They know their adventure is really starting. They must find the secrets of the famous writers.

Éline, thinking out loud, says:
« Jasper, you have the rhyme. I have the word. What do we do now? »

Jasper, thinking out loud, says:
« We need to find stories. Writers get ideas from the world. »

Éline, after a moment of thought, asks:
« Yes, but where are we looking? »

Jasper, full of imagination, says:
« I see a feather that shines like a fox. It must show us the way. Let's go on an adventure, it will guide us. »

With their new magical items in their pockets, Éline and Jasper are ready to explore new worlds. They are then guided by the fox feather, which leads them into a magical living room where three feathers float in the air and form the shapes of famous writers. Each gives them a small magical item—a word, a rhyme, an image—to keep for continuing their quest. Then, guided by the fox feather, they enter the Forest of Tales, where talking animals and hidden life lessons are discovered. The Crow and the Fox, two iconic figures, are in the middle of a philosophical discussion, offering a precious lesson on cleverness and intelligence. Éline and Jasper, armed with their imagination and new powers, are determined to uncover the mystery of this enchanted forest. Their next adventure awaits, full of surprises and discoveries.
