📝 Quick summary of key information

How does a tiny drop of water become a cloud?

Evaporation is a magical process where liquid water turns into steam because of the sun's heat. Imagine the sun playing hide and seek with the water drops, making them disappear and turning them into invisible steam.

Once turned into steam, water goes up into the sky like a balloon flying away. This light and invisible water steam then starts a journey to the heights.

As it rises, the water vapor meets cooler temperatures. It cools down and turns into tiny water droplets, forming light and fluffy little clouds.

Clouds are very important for nature. They carry water all around the world and, when they are full, they bring rain. This rain is essential for plants to grow and for animals to drink.

The Evaporated Source

How does a simple drop of water become a cloud?

The Vanishing Spring

After watching a new cloud being born, Pluma, the little dreamy cloud, and Nimbus, the big light grey cloud with silvery edges, head towards a lively sky area. They discover that clouds dance according to their lightness, tall clouds and small round clouds twirl(1)(2) around like in a ball, revealing the mysteries of the heights(3)(4). Pluma, always curious, wonders where these clouds come from and how they form. Nimbus, with his usual wisdom, decides to show him the way to the Evaporated Source, a magical place where water droplets turn into clouds.

Pluma, curious, asks:
« Where are we going, Nimbus? »

Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, says:
« We are going above a lake. There, you will see how water drops become clouds. »

Pluma, curious, asks:
« How does water become a cloud? »

Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains:
« The sun warms the water. The water turns into vapor. The vapor rises into the sky. It forms clouds. »

Pluma, curious, asks:
« Is steam invisible? »

Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains:
« Yes, it is invisible. But it is essential for making clouds. »

Not long after, they arrive above a sparkling lake under the sun. Nimbus explains to Pluma that evaporation(5) turns liquid water into vapor with the sun's heat. They watch the first droplets fly away and turn into invisible vapor. The vapor rises into the sky and condenses(6) to form a new little cloud together: a companion born from the light.

The Rise of the Steam

After watching the water vapor rise, Pluma and Nimbus continue their journey in the sky. Pluma looks in awe as the water droplets change.

Pluma, curious, asks:
« How does steam turn into droplets? »

Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains:
« The steam cools down. It turns into tiny droplets. »

Pluma, curious, asks:
« Why do the droplets come together? »

Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains: « Tiny bits(7) of dust and pollen(8) help. They make little cloud seeds. »

Pluma learns that the tiny droplets come together because of tiny dust and pollen particles. These particles are invisible but very important for making a cloud. Pluma watches this amazing process carefully.

After watching a new cloud being born, Pluma and Nimbus head towards a lively area in the sky. They find out that clouds dance according to their lightness. Tall, slender clouds and small, round clouds twirl around like in a ball, revealing the mysteries of the heights. Pluma, amazed by this discovery, wonders what happens next. Nimbus, with a reassuring smile, tells her that they are now going to explore the Sky Ball, where clouds dance with the wind, and discover the secrets of the different types of clouds. Pluma, eager, gets ready for this new adventure, eager to learn even more about the fascinating world of clouds.
