📝 Quick summary of key information
Why do clouds get bigger when it's cool outside?
Condensation is a magical thing that turns invisible water vapor into tiny, visible droplets. Imagine you blow on a cold window: the vapor from your breath turns into tiny water drops. That's exactly what happens in the sky!
When it's cool outside, the air gets cold. The tiny water drops in the air turn into even smaller water drops. These drops come together to make clouds. The cooler it is, the faster the water drops join together, and the clouds grow bigger.
Clouds get bigger as they collect more and more tiny water drops. They become denser and heavier. When the clouds are too heavy, the water drops come together and fall as rain. It's like the clouds are emptying out their contents!
Understanding condensation is like discovering a nature secret. It helps us predict the weather and understand why it rains sometimes. It's amazing to see how air and water work together to make clouds and rain!

The Sea of Condensation
Why do clouds get bigger when it's cool outside?
The Sea of Condensations
After dancing with tall and round clouds in The Sky (1) Ball, Pluma, a little dreamy cloud, lets herself be carried away by the air currents (2). She finds out that each type of cloud has its own grace, just like every animal has its own dance. Pluma, with her sparkling eyes and rainbow scarf, is amazed by the smooth (3) movements and changing shapes of the clouds around her. Nimbus, a large light gray cloud with silver edges, wise and protective, follows her closely, ready to answer her many questions.
Pluma, curious, asks:
« What is this cool air sea? »
Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains:
« This is the Sea of Condensations. Water vapor turns into tiny droplets. »
Pluma, curious, asks:
« Why does the air change? »
Nimbus, with his deep and soothing voice, explains:
« Cold air does not hold as much steam. It turns into tiny drops. »
Pluma watches the droplets form and grow bigger. She becomes denser (4) and heavier. Nimbus explains that this is natural. The water vapor turns into a cloud, ready to bring rain.
Pluma, curious, then asks:
« Why do clouds get bigger when it's cool? »
Nimbus, with a deep and soothing voice, explains:
« Cold air can't hold as much steam. It turns into tiny droplets. »
Nimbus helps Pluma understand that these changes are normal: she is becoming a real cloud ready to water the Earth. Pluma suddenly feels lighter. She is ready for her next adventure.
Pluma's Big Change
After understanding the changes she is going through, Pluma is caught in a cool breeze. She lets herself glide into a sea of cool air, where the mist swirls around her and gently wraps her up. She is now lighter and ready for her next adventure.
Pluma, curious, asks:
« Where are we going now? »
Nimbus, in a deep and soothing voice, explains: « We are going to the cumulus (5) clouds. They are very important. »
Pluma, curious, asks:
« Why are they so important? »
Nimbus, in a deep and soothing voice, explains: « They bring rain and coolness. They affect the weather (6). »
Pluma and Nimbus, a traveling cloud and his big brother, continue their journey through the skies. Following a chain of cumulonimbus clouds, Pluma admires huge and lively clouds. These are cumulonimbus clouds, which hide fascinating secrets about the weather and climate. Together, they will discover why these clouds are so important and how they influence the nature below. Pluma, with her sparkling eyes, already wonders what adventures await them in The Chain of Cumulonimbus. Nimbus, with his reassuring voice, promises her that each discovery will be more wonderful than the last. And so, the two clouds continue their journey, ready to explore new horizons and uncover the mysteries of the sky.
