The Big Tournament in the Square
Why did knights take part in tournaments?
The Tournament Square
After braving (1) the Misty Forest, Thibault and Aélis found an old shield hidden by a majestic stag. This shield, adorned with a mysterious (2) symbol, led them to new adventures. They are now at the Tournament Square, where knights fight for honor and glory. Thibault, with his eyes wide open, watches the knights in shiny armor who battle with lances and swords. Aélis, on the other hand, carefully examines the colorful banners (3) that wave in the wind, looking for clues that might help them solve the riddle of the shield.
Thibault, amazed, shouts:
« Look Aélis, the knights are strong. »
Aélis, curious, says:
« Yes, but there is a symbol on that banner. »
Thibault, eyes fixed on the banner, exclaims:
« It's the same as on the shield. »
Aélis, curious, whispers:
« I want to know where this knight is going. Maybe this symbol will lead us to answers about the shield we found in the forest. »
Thibault, determined, says:
« I'm coming with you. »
At the Tournament Square, Aélis notices a familiar symbol on a banner: the same one as the shield found in the forest. Curious, she decides to quietly follow the knight carrying this emblem (4). She slips between the spectators, her leather bag filled with scrolls (5) bouncing slightly with each step. Thibault, captivated by the show, dreams of one day fighting in shiny armor, already imagining the day he will take part in these epic jousts.
The Mystery of the Banner
Aélis follows Sir Alderic and finds herself alone in a big tent. She sees old maps and yellowed scrolls. Aélis starts to read the writings. She also looks at weapons and armor. Suddenly, she hears footsteps behind her.
Thibault, curious, asks:
« Who is there? »
Aélis, trying to stay calm, whispers:
« It might be another knight. »
Thibault, heart pounding, says:
« I hope it's a friend. »
Sir Alderic, curious, asks:
« Hello, young adventurers. What are you doing here? »
Aélis, after looking at the flag, says:
« We are looking for answers about this symbol. »
Thibault, determined, says:
« We want to understand the symbol. »
Sir Alderic, in a deep and serious voice, begins to speak: « The symbol is from an old line (6) of knights who protected the kingdom. I will tell you their story. »
After listening to Sir Alderic tell the story of the protector knights, Thibault and Aélis are amazed. Watching the knights' feats on the Tournament Square deeply moved them. Thibault dreams of one day fighting in shiny armor, while Aélis notices a familiar symbol on a banner: the same as the one on the shield found in the forest. Tired but fascinated, they decide to rest. They then discover the Golden Raven Tavern, where travelers from all over, including messenger squirrels, share their adventures. Inside, an old troubadour (7) is telling the story of a lost knight, captivating the attention of the two children. Sir Alderic, always there to guide them, offers them a seat by the fire. The flames dance softly, casting magical shadows on the tavern walls. Thibault and Aélis, exhausted but happy, fall asleep dreaming of their next adventures. Tomorrow, their quest will continue, ready to discover new secrets and live new adventures in the medieval kingdom.
