Arrival at the Port of Wonders

After finding an old map in a forgotten chest, Léandro and Sofia were captivated by the mysteries it held. The map, yellowed by time, spoke‎ (1) of a mysterious island and a path of knowledge. A parchment‎ (2), yellowed by time, was accompanied by a drawing of a colorful parrot, a symbol of the riches of unknown lands. The two adventurers‎ (3) decided to go on an adventure to solve‎ (4) this mystery and discover what the old map hid. They boarded a ship headed for the Port of Wonders, a place known for its cultural and commercial exchanges.

Once they arrived at the Port of Wonders, Léandro and Sofia were immediately amazed by the bustle and the variety of goods. Renaissance ports were places of cultural and commercial exchange, where one could discover objects from far away.

Léandro, amazed, exclaims:
« Look at these golden globes! »

Sofia, amazed, says:
« And these chests full of unknown things! »

Léandro, amazed, shouts:
« Wow, this is incredible! »

Sofia, while looking around, says:
« I write everything down in my notebook. »

The bright colors of the fabrics and spices‎ (5) contrast with the dark shades of the exotic woods. Léandro and Sofia walk among the stalls, watching the merchants enthusiastically show off their products. They discover spices with intoxicating scents, fabrics with complex patterns, and musical instruments with melodious sounds. Then, Master Romano the Merchant approaches them as they examine a chest filled with glowing pearls.

Their attention is then caught by Master Romano the Merchant, who tells them about a missing scroll. They are told that it belonged to a famous inventor‎ (6).

The Mystery of the Scroll

Master Romano the Merchant tells them that the parchment holds plans for amazing machines. He talks about flying machines and mechanical devices. Léandro and Sofia listen carefully, their eyes shining with curiosity.

Léandro, eyes wide open, whispers:
« This is amazing! »

Sofia, her eyes shining with excitement, says:
« We must find this parchment! »

Léandro, eyes shining, exclaims:
« Yes, it could change the world! »

The two friends look at each other, determined. They know their quest will be hard, but they are ready to do anything to discover the secrets of the parchment. They decide to start their search the very next day.

The next morning, Léandro and Sofia go to the port. They ask the sailors and the merchants, hoping to get clues. Some talk about a secret library, hidden deep in the port.

Intrigued by the mystery of the lost parchment, Léandro and Sofia decide to visit Master Romano the Merchant for his help. They go to his shop, where rare objects and old maps are neatly arranged. Master Romano the Merchant, with his great knowledge of cultures and languages, welcomes them warmly. He carefully examines the parchment and explains that some parts can be restored using ancient techniques. He shows them how to use special inks and precise tools to reveal the faded texts. Léandro and Sofia are amazed by Master Romano the Merchant's knowledge and realize that their quest is far from over. They now know they must continue to explore and learn to discover all the secrets of the parchment. With Master Romano the Merchant's help, they start to decipher‎ (7) the plans of the extraordinary machines drawn on the parchment. They discover incredible inventions, like flying machines and complex mechanical devices. They realize that these inventions could change the world and bring major technological advances. Excited by this discovery, they decide to go to Master Luca's workshop, where they might be able to build and test these machines. They head to the workshop, ready to face new challenges and discover even more mysteries. Can a wooden machine really fly? They are determined to find out.
