📝 Quick summary of key information
What can the stones of a very old city tell us?
Imagine yourself, little explorer, in the heart of ancient Rome. The stones of the Roman Forum, the center of public life, tell amazing stories. They were silent witnesses to the bustling markets, religious ceremonies, and speeches of great orators.
A stone from the market could tell you about the colorful stalls filled with fruits, vegetables, and spices. The sellers shouted their prices, and the children ran between the stalls, curious and excited. The stones have seen thousands of faces and heard thousands of laughs.
A stone from a temple could tell you stories of prayers and sacrifices. Priests in white robes sang hymns, and believers brought offerings. The stones felt the smoke of the incense and heard the whispers of the prayers.
The stones of an arch tell about the victories of great generals. They saw soldiers return as winners, with crowds cheering for their heroes. The stones heard victory songs and felt the pride of the Romans.

The Wonder of the Forum
In the summer heat of Rome, Maximus and Livia, two adventurous children, are going home after a day of exploring. Maximus, a ten-year-old boy full of energy and cleverness (1) (2), wears a red tunic, a golden cape, and a wooden helmet with a blue feather. He dreams of becoming a legionnaire and loves solving mysteries (3). Livia, his eight-year-old sister, is a mischievous and very curious little Roman. She wears a white dress, a golden belt, and a braid tied with a magic pearl. She spent the afternoon watching everything around her. They discovered how the Romans tame (4) these big cats (5) for shows. Today, they are ready for a new adventure. After sharing some jokes about the cats' tricks, they decide to go to the Roman Forum. This place, in the heart of the city, is a real treasure (6) of stories and mysteries.
Not long after, they arrive at the Forum. The cobblestones under their feet tell stories from long ago. The giant columns reach up to the sky. They are many meters tall. The fancy patterns tell of the adventures of old heroes.
Maximus, amazed, shouts:
« Look, Livia, these columns are huge. »
Livia, amazed, adds:
« Yes, and the statues shine in the sun. »
Maximus, looking up at the statues, whispers:
« They seem to be watching us. »
Livia, curious, says:
« Come, let's go closer to this statue. There is a hidden inscription. »
While looking at a hidden inscription under a statue, they find a mysterious symbol: the start of their big adventure.
The Mystery of the Symbol
Maximus and Livia look at the symbol carefully. They are amazed by the details. The symbol is carved in the stone, it looks very old.
Maximus, curious, asks:
« What is this drawing? »
Livia, after looking at the symbol for a long time, says:
« I don't know. We should draw it. »
Maximus, after looking at the symbol carefully, says: « Okay, I'll take the scroll (7). You draw. »
After drawing the symbol, they decide to go to the secret library. They walk fast. The streets are busy. They meet sellers and children playing.
