Senator Aurelius' Villa
After leaving the legionnaires' camp, it is said that Maximus wakes up still amazed by the centurions (1)' shouts and the synchronized movements of the legionnaires. He can't help but think about the majestic eagles (2) that flew over the camp, a symbol of Roman power. He wonders how these soldiers, trained with so much discipline (3), could one day protect Rome and its people. He shares his thoughts with his sister Livia, a little Roman girl with a white dress, a golden belt, and a braid tied with a magical pearl, who is fascinated by the stories of Roman gods and heroes. Together, they decide to visit Senator (4) Aurelius to learn more about the lives of rich Romans. However, it is while exploring the villa of the majestic lion with a silver mane that they discover ancient frescoes and a strange passage, taking them back to their initial adventure.
Soon after, they arrive at Senator Aurelius's villa. The walls are decorated with colorful frescoes. Scenes of daily Roman life appear. You can see busy markets, soldiers in training, and majestic gods. The bright colors tell fascinating stories.
Maximus, amazed, says:
« Look, Livia, this painting shows a Roman market. »
Livia, after looking carefully at the paintings, says: « Yes, and there, a little golden key is hidden in an amphora (5). »
Maximus, determined, says:
« I will try to take it down. »
Curious, they follow the clues hidden in the paintings. They find a map rolled up in a forgotten amphora. The map seems to show a secret passage.
The Secret Passage
Maximus and Livia follow the map. They find a hidden door behind a fresco. The door opens silently.
Maximus, looking at the door, says:
« Livia, we must be careful. »
Livia, after looking carefully, says:
« Yes, Maximus. Look, there is a light at the end of the passage. »
Maximus, full of energy, says:
« Let's go see. Maybe we will find a new secret. »
Guided by a hidden key, Maximus and Livia explore Senator Aurelius' villa, finding old paintings and a strange passage. By following the clues hidden in the paintings, they find a map rolled up in a forgotten jar. While exploring Senator Aurelius' villa, Maximus and Livia discover a hidden trapdoor under an old altar. With a key in hand, they go down worn stone steps and find a secret room filled with dusty scrolls (6). A scared owl flies away, showing shelves full of Roman secrets. The children, amazed, find old stories and mysterious maps. They learn that Senator Aurelius' villa is a real treasure of knowledge and history. Maximus, the little Roman with his red tunic, golden cape, and wooden helmet decorated with a blue feather, and Livia, with their endless curiosity, decide to keep exploring the mysteries of ancient Rome. They know that every corner of the city hides fascinating secrets, and they are determined to find them. Their next adventure might take them to the Colosseum (7), where they can discover the secrets of the gladiators and epic battles. Maximus, the little Roman with his red tunic, golden cape, and wooden helmet decorated with a blue feather, and Livia, with their endless curiosity, decide to keep exploring the mysteries of ancient Rome.
