📝 Quick summary of key information

How do you make medicine to help a boo-boo?

A medicine is something that helps to heal or soothe an ouchie. There are different types of medicines, each with a special job. For example, some medicines soothe pain, others heal a sickness, and some protect against infections.

Medicines are made in labs by scientists. They use special ingredients to make pills, syrups, or ointments. These scientists work hard to find the right recipes to help heal boo-boos.

It's very important to follow the right amount for the medicine to work well and be safe. Too much or too little can be bad for your health. It's like a cake recipe: too much sugar or not enough, and the cake won't be good!

Always ask an adult or a doctor before taking medicine. Adults should read the instructions on the package and follow the prescribed doses. This way, the medicine can work and help heal the boo-boo.

The Magic of Medicines with Pharmacist Hugo

How do we make a medicine to soothe an owie?

The Mini-Pharmacy: A Magical Lab

After watching Dr. Petit, a kind Labrador, comfort a small teddy bear by singing, Éliott, with his oversized coat and beeping watch, and Nour head to the Mini-Pharmacy. They learned that a smile and a gentle song can soothe the littlest patients, just like Doctor Soft's careful moves. At the Mini-Pharmacy, Pharmacist(1) Hugo waits for them with a big smile. His curly gray hair and round glasses give him a wise and reassuring look. Pharmacist Hugo wears a spotless(2) white coat and a badge with a magic vial(3), a symbol of his love for pharmacy.

Pharmacist Hugo, with a big smile, says:
« Hello Éliott and Nour! Today, you will learn how to make imaginary syrups. »

Nour, curious, asks:
« What is a medicine? »

Pharmacist Hugo, with a reassuring smile, explains:
« A medicine fixes boo-boos. It can calm, heal, or protect. »

A little while later, Pharmacist Hugo shows Nour and Elliott how to mix imaginary syrups. He explains to them that each syrup has a special job. Nour watches each move carefully. Elliott takes a spoon and gently mixes the ingredients(4).

Éliott, curious about the measurements, asks:
« Why do we need to measure the doses? »

Pharmacist Hugo explains:
« For the treatment to work well. Each ingredient has a special amount. »

While making a strawberry-banana flavored potion, they find a magic stopper that reveals a secret healing formula. Pharmacist Hugo shows them how to carefully label the bottles, writing the medicine's name, the dose, and the preparation date.

The Magic Healing Formula

After labeling the bottles, Pharmacist Hugo shows the kids a shelf filled with colorful bottles. He explains that each bottle contains a special ingredient.

Nour, curious, asks:
« What are special ingredients? »

Pharmacist Hugo, with a reassuring smile, explains:
« These are things that come from nature. They help to heal boo-boos. »

Pharmacist Hugo takes a bottle with shiny flower petals. He shows them to the children and asks them to add them to the potion. Nour and Éliott watch the petals shine in the mixture.

Éliott, intrigued by the glowing petals, asks:
« Why do the petals shine? »

Pharmacist Hugo, with a mysterious smile, explains: « The petals shine because they have magical properties(5). They help you heal faster. »

With the strawberry-banana potion ready, Nour and Éliott are guided to the Ambu’Fun. Léa, the ambulance driver(6), is waiting there with her adorable Labrador, Max. She explains how to secure an injured teddy bear on a miniature stretcher while showing them how to drive safely. The children, proud of their new magic potion, are eager to use it to heal the little patients of the clinic. They learn that each medicine has a special job and it's important to follow the doses and instructions for the treatment to work. With a smile and a gentle song, they are ready to bring comfort and healing to all the stuffed animals and teddy bears at the Little Carers Clinic. Their next adventure is already promised, full of surprises and new discoveries.
