📝 Quick summary of key information
How to welcome a customer and show them what they are looking for?
Selling is helping someone find what they want. Imagine you have a treasure and you want to share it with a friend. It's a bit like that!
To welcome a customer nicely, you must first listen to them well. Listening means paying attention to what the person says. For example, if the customer is looking for a toy, ask them what kind of toy they like.
Don't forget to smile! A smile shows that you are happy to see the customer and that you want to help. Use kind words like 'hello', 'can I help you?', 'here is what you are looking for'.
Showing the product in action can also help the customer see what it is for and how it works. For example, if you are selling a ball, show how it bounces!

The Sales Magician
How to welcome a customer and offer what they are looking for?
Mystery Customer Street
After making a funny pencil holder shaped like a unicorn cat, Samy is proud of his creation. In his shop at the Idea Market, Samy had a brilliant idea: to make a funny pencil holder shaped like a unicorn cat! With the help of Mrs. Pitch, he learned to turn a simple idea into a fun and useful product, thinking of every detail so that children would love it. His first prototype (1), with its shiny eyes and rainbow horn, has already made everyone passing by smile. Now, he needs to learn how to sell his product. Mrs. Pitch explains that a good salesperson must know how to listen, understand the customer's wishes, and offer a suitable product with a smile.
Samy, determined, says to himself:
« I am going to try to sell pencil holders. »
After taking a big breath, Samy steps into Mystery Customer Street. He knows that selling is about listening, understanding what the customer wants, and offering the right product with a smile. Samy ventures alone into Mystery Customer Street. He has to face visitors who are not always easy: grumpy, curious (2), or in a hurry!
Samy, with a big smile, says:
« Hello! Can I help you? »
Samy, with a warm smile, asks:
« Are you looking for something special? I have a funny pencil holder that looks like a unicorn cat. It's unique and colorful, perfect for kids! »
Samy, with a friendly smile, says:
« It's perfect for organizing your crayons. It has shiny eyes and a rainbow horn. »
Samy, with a friendly smile, says: « You know, Mila is making something really special for the window (3). She loves inventing colorful and unique things. You can come back later, it will be all decorated, and you'll see, you won't be disappointed! »
Samy, with a warm smile, explains:
« You see, this pencil holder shaped like a unicorn cat is really unique. It will not only organize your pencils, but it will also brighten up your workspace. You will love it, especially if you like colorful and original things, like Mila's creations! »
With listening and clever (4) (5) questions, he makes everyone smile. One of the customers gives him a shiny badge with a symbol to keep. Samy wonders what this badge means. He decides to keep it safely. Tomorrow, he will go back to Mystery Customer Street for new adventures.
The Secret of Selling
It is then decided that Samy returns to the shop, proud of his new badge. We wonder what this badge means. It is decided to keep it carefully. The next day, it is planned that he goes back to Mystery Customer Street for new adventures.
Mrs Pitch, after watching Samy, comes closer and says:
« Samy, you did a great job. This badge means you know how to listen and understand the customers. »
Samy, proud of his badge, talks to Mrs. Pitch:
« Thank you, Mrs. Pitch. I liked learning to sell with simple words and demonstrations. »
Mrs Pitch, with an encouraging smile, adds:
« That's the secret to welcoming a customer well. You managed to offer what he was looking for. »
Samy, with a determined smile, says:
« I am going to keep practicing. I want to become the best salesperson in Mini-Town. »
Mrs Pitch, with an encouraging smile, says:
« With listening and clever questions, you will make everyone smile. »
After learning how to win the hearts of the toughest customers, Samy, a friendly (6) and clever boy with an apron full of loyalty cards, labels, and neon pens, and Mila, a creative girl with star-shaped glasses, a pink cap, and an idea notebook stuck to her hand, focus on a new crucial (7) part of their shop: the window display. A well-decorated window display catches the attention of passersby and makes them want to discover the treasures hidden inside. With paper garlands and colorful letters, they decorate their window display for a special spring sale. Praline the cat, who watches them curiously, wonders how the decorations will attract customers. The next adventure begins, and this time, they will have to learn how to attract customers with a magical and colorful window display.
