📝 Quick summary of key information
A gear is like a small toothed wheel that helps robots move. Imagine wheels that fit together and turn together, it's like a moving puzzle! Gears help pass the movement from one part of the robot to another.
Gears often work with motors. A motor is like the heart of the robot, it provides the energy needed to make the gears turn. When the motor runs, it moves the robot's wheels or arms, just like when you pedal a bike!
Gears and motors are very important for robots. Without them, robots could not move or do tasks. They help robots move, lift things, and even play games!
Mechanical engineers are the magicians who put all these pieces together. They design and build robots using gears and motors. Thanks to them, robots can do amazing things and make our lives easier and more fun.

How do robots move with gears and motors?
The Mysterious Robot
After building a strong and light bridge using boards and strings, Noa and Zoé learned the importance of civil (1) engineering (2). Their wooden bridge, designed to hold a small weight, helped them understand the principles of strength and lightness. With Teacher Astucio, always in his white lab coat, they discovered that even the smallest details, like the direction (3) of the boards, can make a big difference. Now, they are ready to take on a new challenge in the Mechanics Room. Noa, with his round glasses and tool overalls, and Zoé, with her sketch tablet and engineer's helmet, head towards the Mechanics Room, eager to find out what awaits them.
Noa, curious, shouts:
« Look, Zoé! A robot on the shelf. »
Zoé, curious, asks:
« He is big! Why doesn't he move? »
Noa, with a sparkle of curiosity in his eyes, suggests:
« Let's check together. Let's take off his arm. »
After looking at the parts, Zoé explains: « The gears (4) are in the wrong place. They are worn out. »
Noa, after looking at the gears, says:
« Let's replace them with strong gears. »
Once the robot was fixed, it started to dance! In its chest, a small shiny key was hidden: a mechanical (5) (6) puzzle (7) (8) awaits them!
The Mechanical Puzzle
Noa and Zoé take the shiny key. They look at it closely. A map is drawn on it. It shows a path to a new room.
Zoé, after looking at the key, shouts:
« It's a map! Let's see where it leads. »
Noa, after looking at the map closely, says:
« Let's follow the arrows. They lead us to a blue door. »
They walk into the workshop. They find a blue door. It is closed. Noa and Zoé look for a solution. Zoé finds a button. She presses it. The door opens.
Noa, eyes wide open, shouts:
« Look, Zoé! Parts everywhere! »
Zoé, looking at the scattered pieces, says:
« It's perfect! We can build a robotic arm. »
Noa and Zoé are invited by Teacher Astucio to go to the Mechanic's Room. Once there, they find a robot that doesn't move. They take apart its arm and find gears that are not in the right place. After fixing the robot, it starts to dance! Inside its chest, there is a shiny little key hidden: a mechanical puzzle awaits them! This key opens a mechanical puzzle that leads them to the magical forest where the Smart Cabin is. They need to make this cabin smart with sensors (9). With a tablet, their program is tested. An alarm and automatic lights are installed to make the cabin even safer. Noa and Zoé are proud of their work and excited to see what the next adventure brings.
