📝 Quick summary of key information

A sustainable city is a city that takes care of the planet. It uses renewable energy like the sun and the wind. This helps reduce pollution and protect our environment.

In a green city, waste is recycled. This means that used things are turned into new things. For example, a plastic bottle can become a new toy. This way, we save the Earth's resources.

Green spaces are very important in a sustainable city. They let people enjoy nature, breathe fresh air, and relax. Parks and gardens are places where children can play and learn.

Environmental engineering is the science that helps imagine solutions to make cities cleaner and more peaceful. It uses many different fields to find ways to protect the planet and live in harmony with nature.

People can help make their city more sustainable by using less plastic, recycling, and planting trees. Every little action helps to protect our planet and build a better future.

The Green City

How can we build a city that respects the planet?

Building the Model

After finishing the Number Puzzle, Noa and Zoé learned how to use math to build precise structures. With a ruler, a compass, and calculations, they assembled a perfect geometric(1) shape. They also watched how a little red squirrel used geometric shapes to build its nest. Soon after, Noa and Zoé find themselves in the Main Fab-Lab. Professor Astucio is waiting for them with plans, tools, and materials. Noa and Zoé are very excited because they are about to build a green city.

With a big smile, Professor Astucio says:
« Noa, Zoé, today we are going to build a sustainable city. »

Noa, excited, asks:
« Awesome! How do we start? »

Professor Astucio, with an excited smile, begins to explain:
« We are going to put solar panels on the roofs. They catch the sun's energy. »

Zoé, after looking at her drawings, suggests:
« Then, we add shared gardens. »

Professor Astucio, with a smile, adds:
« Exactly! With little plants and colorful flowers. »

When they place the last piece, a hologram(2) appears with the logo of the Junior Engineers Academy... their adventure is just beginning!

The Energy and Nature Challenges

Noa and Zoé, excited by the hologram, head to the Energy Lab. Professor Astucio explains to them that for a green city, it is essential to maximize the use of renewable energies.

Professor Astucio, with an enthusiastic smile, announces: « We are going to test mini windmills(3) and solar panels. »

Noa, eyes sparkling with curiosity, asks:
« How do we capture energy from the wind and the sun? »

Professor Astucio, always in his white coat, approaches the children and says:
« With these sensors, we measure the energy captured. Zoé, draw the results. »

Zoé, focused, says:
« I write down the measurements. Noa, adjust the sensors for more energy. »

After testing wind turbines and solar panels, they go to the Mechanic's Room. They build small recycling robots. These robots, with sensors, can sort trash.

With the logo of the Junior Engineers Academy shining in front of them, Noa and Zoé feel a new excitement rising. What if we discover the mysteries of aerospace(4) engineers? Zoé suggests, her eyes sparkling. Imagine building rockets with Professor Astucio! Noa cheers. Their adventure is just beginning, and new discoveries await them, maybe even with the help of a new friend, a curious little raccoon named Rémy!
