📝 Quick summary of key information
How does a crane help build the tallest buildings?
A crane is a giant machine used on construction sites. It helps lift very heavy things, like metal beams or pallets of bricks. Thanks to it, workers can build very tall buildings.
To put the materials in the right places, the crane uses a long, bendy arm. This arm can turn and stretch to reach hard-to-get places. The crane operator, the person who drives the crane, must be very careful not to drop anything.
The crane operator works from a very high cabin at the top of the crane. From there, he has an overview of the construction site and can coordinate his movements with the team on the ground. He uses controls to move the crane's arm and lift materials.
To make sure everything goes well, the crane operator must stay in constant contact with the ground crew. They often talk on the radio to make sure the materials are placed exactly where they need to be. Together, they make a well-coordinated team that can build amazing buildings.

How does a crane help build the tallest buildings?
The Crane in Action
After watching the roofers (1) climb onto the roofs like cats, Léon, the dreamer, discovers the importance of a good roof. Mister Pole explains to him that every tile, every nail, has a crucial (2) role in the construction. Léon, fascinated (3), wonders how heavy materials can be transported to the highest floors. That's when Mister Pole tells him about the crane, an impressive machine that plays a key role in building the tallest buildings.
Léon, eyes shining with excitement, shouts:
« I want to see the crane in action! »
Lila, always curious, suggests:
« Let's go see the crane in action! »
After hearing Lila's idea, Léon and Lila run to the Machine Park. They find a majestic (4) big crane. The Crane Operator Malik waves at them from his very high cabin. He operates this machine with precision and works together (5) with the team on the ground.
Léon, his eyes wide with wonder, asks:
« How do you lift such heavy things? »
Lila, curious about the crane operator's work, asks:
« Yes, and how do you stay balanced? »
The Crane Operator Malik, always ready to share his knowledge, explains: « I use cables and pulleys. The crane has counterweights (6) so it doesn't tip over. »
The Crane Operator Malik waves to them from his cabin and drops a string with a small rolled-up plan attached… A final gift from the construction site!
An Unexpected Gift
Léon and Lila catch the rolled-up plan. They unroll it excitedly. They find drawings and mysterious (7) notes. They look at each other, intrigued by this unexpected gift.
Léon, eyes sparkling with curiosity, asks:
« What is this? »
Lila, after looking at the document, says:
« It's a plan! »
Léon, curious, asks:
« Why is The Crane Operator Malik giving us this plan? »
Lila, curious about the plan, suggests:
« Let's ask Mister Pole. »
The children run to the Plan Cabin. The Crane Operator Malik is waiting for them. He smiles when he sees the plan. He explains that this plan shows how to build very tall buildings.
With this last gift, Léon and Lila discover the plans for a new adventure. They wonder what this plan could show. They are eager to learn how to build very tall buildings, just like The Crane Operator Malik explained. Meanwhile, they are promised to return to the construction site to watch the cranes in action and maybe even get to go up in Malik's cabin to see the village from above one day.
