The Magic Flour Secret
What is flour and how is it turned into bread?
The Discovery of the Grain Mill
After meeting the cat Flour and discovering the magical bakery, Leo and Lila, two curious and lively children, set off on a new adventure. Intrigued (1) by the mysteries of pastry making, they followed Mr. Sweetness, the wise baker, into the Pastry Workshop. Their day had just begun, and already, the scents of fresh bread and cakes filled the air. Leo, with his white apron stained with chocolate and his colorful chef's hat, and Lila, with her pink apron and her brown hair tied in a ponytail, were ready to discover the secrets of the magical flour.
Once they arrived in the Bakers' Workshop, Leo and Lila were amazed. They saw old tools and colorful ingredients. Mr. Sweetness showed them an old grain mill. He explained that this tool was used to grind (2) wheat grains.
Leo, curious, asks then:
« How does it work? »
Lila, curious, asks:
« Yes, how does it work? »
The wise baker explained to them that the wheat grains, once harvested, were put into the mill. By turning the handle (3), the grains were crushed between the stones. This turned the grains into a fine beige powder (4): flour.
Not long after, the children got the instructions from the wise baker for their first recipe. The flour, which they had just discovered, was the base of many pastries. After mixing the flour with water, they started to knead the dough.
Following the wise baker's instructions, Leo and Lila mix the flour with water to make their first bread dough. They find out they need to knead it for a long time to get an elastic and smooth dough.
The Mystery of the Sourdough
After kneading their dough, it is left to rest. Meanwhile, the children go to a corner of the bakery. They find old books filled with magical recipes.
Leo, eyes sparkling, exclaims:
« Look, Lila, recipes for flying cakes! »
Lila, excited, says:
« Great, Leo! We can try to make some another day. »
They keep exploring. They find colorful ingredients and shiny tools. They are amazed by so many wonders.
Leo, eyes sparkling, suggests:
« Lila, let's try a recipe with candy stars? »
Lila, curious, suggests:
« That's a great idea, Leo! But before we start, did you see that old grain mill in the Bakers' Workshop? We could start there and learn how to make flour. »
Once the dough was well kneaded and left to rest, it was discovered that every step in making bread was important. The dough was then baked in the oven, and a golden, fluffy (5) loaf came out, ready to be enjoyed. Patience and precision (6) were recognized as the keys to success. As they savored their first creation, it was decided to continue exploring the mysteries of baking. Next time, maybe the secrets of colorful cakes and delicate pastries would be revealed. The adventure at the Little Bakers' Bakery was not over yet, and new surprises awaited the children.
