📝 Quick summary of key information

What secrets are hidden in old books?

Old books are treasures full of mysteries. They can have secret codes, puzzles to solve, and ancient languages to decipher. These books are special because they tell stories and ideas that were written a very long time ago.

Old books often have secrets because they were written in times when people liked to hide messages or important information. Sometimes, these secrets are codes or puzzles that we need to solve to understand their meaning.

Even before computers were invented, logical ideas were written in books. These ideas helped create the first computers. For example, logic and math concepts found in old books were used to develop the basics of computing.

In old books, you can find hidden messages or puzzles to solve. Sometimes, these secrets are hidden maps, old recipes, or even fascinating stories. Reading and understanding these books lets us learn new and fascinating things.

The Library of Codes

What secrets hide in the old books?

The Discovery of Old Books

After exploring the Room of the Reels, where each spool seemed to whisper secrets, Clara and Elio found repeating letters. These letters formed puzzling patterns. They realized that these letters hid coded messages. Curious(1), they decided to continue their investigation in the nearby lab. There, they found an ancient and mysterious machine: the Antikythera(2) machine. In this lab, they discovered a hidden door leading to a library full of old books. Clara, with her red hair tied up in a bun(3), wearing a purple jacket full of pockets filled with papers and pencils, and Elio, wearing his round glasses, a blue overalls, and a gear(4) watch that he wound up to think, were then seen heading towards this library with excitement.

Clara, amazed, says:
« Look Elio, there are so many books! »

Elio, amazed, says:
« Yes, and they are all so old! »

Clara, her eyes shining with excitement, says:
« Maybe they hold secrets! »

Elio, after looking at the shelves, says:
« I am going to find a book! »

Clara, excited, says:
« I will help you look! »

Clara flips through an old book with golden pages. The pages crackled under her fingers, releasing a smell of dust and mystery. Elio, on his side, found a notebook with grids of strange symbols. Each symbol seemed to have a hidden meaning, and the two friends started to think about how to decode them. They quickly realized that these symbols were keys to solving even more complex puzzles. They discover a decoding(5)(6) key hidden in a fake book. Each symbol matches a number or a letter.

Secret Message Decoding

After finding the decoding key, Clara and Elio figure out the secret messages. They understand that each symbol stands for a number or a letter. The two friends realize that these messages are instructions for the Turing machine. They discover that each symbol can be turned into a series of zeros and ones, the basics of binary language.

Clara, her eyes shining with excitement, exclaims:
« It's amazing, Elio! We managed to decode the secret messages. Each symbol matches a number or a letter, and we even found out that these symbols can be turned into a series of zeros and ones, the basics of binary language! »

Elio, amazed, says:
« It's incredible how these symbols turn into binary code! It's like magic, but it's really real. Imagine all the things we can do with this Turing machine now that we've decoded the instructions. »

Clara, amazed, says:
« It's amazing to see how each symbol turns into a series of zeros and ones. It really looks like these instructions are for a Turing machine! »

Elio, adjusting his glasses, says:
« That's right, it's binary code. »

A matching(7) table came out to decode the messages. By working together, the children managed to decode a message that led them to a new puzzle. As they were about to solve this puzzle, Elio knocked over a pile of books, revealing a secret passage behind a shelf. With the decoding key in hand, Elio and Clara felt ready to uncover all the mysteries of the machine. They walked into a hallway filled with floating numbers, where each symbol seemed to be a new challenge to overcome. As they moved through the hallway, they discovered that the numbers ‘0’ and ‘1’ could hide incredible secrets. Can you really write with just two numbers? As they were about to find out the answer, a bright light lit up the hallway, revealing a new door. Behind this door, a new adventure awaited them, full of mysteries and discoveries. But for now, they enjoyed the satisfaction of their success and prepared to face the challenges ahead.
