📝 Quick summary of key information

How do you open a door with a magic code?

Coded instructions are lists of commands that computers follow to do tasks. For example, to open a door, a computer needs precise instructions, like 'unlock the lock' and 'push the door'.

Secret codes are very important because they help solve everyday problems. They help machines work correctly and assist us with our daily tasks.

A logical sequence is like a magic spell. It must be precise and well-ordered for the spell to work. For example, to open a door, you first unlock the lock, then push the door.

To open a door with a digital spell, the computer must follow a logical sequence. For example, 'unlock the lock,' then 'push the door.' This makes the door open automatically.

Secret codes can solve lots of problems. They can control things like lights, thermostats, and even toys. Imagine turning on a light with just a magic number!

The Code Castle

How to open a door with a digital spell ?

The Arrival at the Code Castle

After finding a glowing manual called 'The Secrets of Magic Algorithms' in an old attic, Aïcha and Kenji, along with their new friend, a talking cat named Pixel(1), start studying algorithms. As they master their first codes, they realize that every line of code they write becomes a magic spell(2), able to change the world around them. Their learning takes them to a giant castle with mysterious doors. Suddenly, the Keyboard(3) Guardian, a magical being, appears. He tells the children that this castle is the Code Castle, a place where each door only opens with a precise algorithm. Curious, Aïcha and Kenji decide to take on the challenge and discover how to open these enchanted doors.

Aïcha, amazed, whispers:
« It's a big castle. »

Kenji, amazed, shouts:
« Look, they shine like stars! »

The Keyboard Guardian, with a clear and soothing voice, says:
« Each door has a secret code. »

Aïcha, curious, asks:
« How do we open the doors? »

The Keyboard Guardian, with a soft and reassuring voice, says: « To open these doors, you need to write algorithms. These are sets of instructions(4) that you can create to solve problems or complete specific tasks. You have seen algorithms in Kenji's video games and on Aïcha's websites. Try to think about how you might use them here. »

By writing their first algorithm, they open a sparkling door and discover a giant magical keyboard.

The Discovery of the Magic Keyboard

In the middle of the room, a giant magic keyboard shines brightly. Each key sparkles with bright colors.

The Keyboard Guardian, with a mysterious smile, explains:
« Each key has a special job. »

Aïcha, curious, asks:
« Which key opens a door? »

Kenji, full of energy, suggests:
« Let's try this one. »

The children press a blue key. An invisible door appears in front of them. They are amazed by the magic of algorithms.

The Keyboard Guardian, amazed, says:
« Well done! You found the right sequence. »

After solving the riddle of the magical keyboard, Aïcha and Kenji hear a distant melody. Curious, they follow the sound to a lively village where robots are busy. Some robots play music, others dance or tell jokes. The two friends soon discover that these robots can be programmed(5)(6) to do fun things with simple algorithms. A small glowing humanoid with bright eyes like computer screens, wearing a cape made of sparkling pixels(7) and holding a magic wand that looks like a computer key, approaches them. Its hands are equipped with keyboard keys that allow it to type magical spells. It explains that this village is the Robot Village, a place where creativity and logic meet. Aïcha and Kenji, excited by this new discovery, decide to stay a little longer to explore this enchanted village and learn to program their own robots. Their adventure at the Code Castle is just the beginning of many more discoveries to come.
