📝 Quick summary of key information

How can a simple experiment reveal secrets?

An experiment is like a little adventure where you ask a question and look for an answer. For example, if you wonder why water boils, you can do an experiment to find out.

Experiments are very useful because they help us understand the world around us. They can answer simple questions like: Why is the sky blue? or Why do things fall to the ground?

Let's take a real example: if you put a piece of sugar in a glass of water, you will see it disappear. But where did it go? By doing this experiment, you will discover that the sugar dissolves in the water, revealing a hidden secret.

With experiments, you can discover lots of secrets. For example, why do plants need light? Or how do colors mix? You can even do experiments with everyday objects, like balloons or magnets.

The Amazing Experiment Room

How can a simple experiment reveal secrets?

The Magic of Falling

While Noa and Nina were still amazed by Isaac Newton's demonstration(1), a new experiment was set up. In a room filled with shiny objects, two different objects were placed side by side. Isaac Newton explained that these objects would be dropped at the same time to observe their fall. By looking closely, it was possible to see another symbol(2) appear on a mirror... Another piece of the puzzle(3) leading to a big secret.

After watching these wonders, they entered a room filled with shiny objects. Noa and Nina were eager to find out what Isaac Newton was going to show them.

Noa, eyes sparkling with curiosity, asks:
« Now that we have seen these objects fall at the same time, what are we going to do? »

Nina, her eyes sparkling with curiosity, says:
« I want to see another experiment. »

Isaac Newton smiled and took an apple and a feather. He dropped them from the same height. Noa and Nina watched carefully. However, the feather fell more slowly than the apple because of air resistance(4).

The apple hit the ground at the same time as the feather. The feather fell more slowly. Isaac Newton explained that this was because of air resistance.

By watching carefully(5), Isaac Newton asked the children to come closer. He then showed them a mirror hidden(6) in the room. On this mirror, a mysterious symbol suddenly appeared. It was another piece of the puzzle that brought them one step closer to the big secret they were trying to find.

The Mystery of the Mirror

Noa and Nina looked at each other, curious. They didn't understand what it meant yet.

Nina, curious, asks:
« What is this symbol? »

Noa, curious, asks:
« Yes, what does this mean? »

Isaac Newton smiled and explained that this symbol was a clue. He talked to them about light and colors.

With a mysterious smile, Noa and Nina were invited to follow Isaac Newton. They were led into a big, colorful room filled with ramps and balls of all colors. Soon, the children discovered why an object in motion keeps moving on its own, like dogs that run without stopping. They were told that this is because of inertia(7), a property that keeps objects moving. The children were eager to find out what this new adventure had in store for them. Isaac Newton then talked to them about light and colors, and showed them how to drop two different objects at the same time. By looking closely, they saw another symbol appear on a mirror... Another piece of the puzzle leading to a big secret.
