📝 Quick summary of key information

Why is Earth the only planet where we find life?

For life to exist, we need liquid water, breathable air, and a nice temperature. Earth has all these conditions, which allows many living things to live here.

Earth is at the right distance from the Sun, which keeps water liquid. Its atmosphere contains oxygen, which is essential for breathing. Plants, animals, and tiny organisms live on Earth and depend on each other.

Living things interact with each other and their environment. For example, plants make oxygen that animals breathe, and animals eat plants. This forms food chains and ecosystems.

Other planets don't seem to have these conditions. They are either too hot, too cold, or don't have the right air for life. For example, Venus is very hot and Mars is very cold.

Blue Earth and the Singing Moon

Why is Earth the only planet with life ?

Meeting with Blue Earth

After watching the golden clouds of Venus, the two little asteroids, Piko and Luma, wonder why this planet shines so brightly in the sky. They discover that Venus is surrounded by a thick layer of clouds that reflect the sunlight, making it shine brighter than the other planets. Following the silvery whistle, they dash towards the next step of their journey. Soon after, they spot a magnificent, sparkling blue ball: Earth the Welcoming. Earth the Welcoming, as the asteroids call her, is a kind and generous being(1) who embodies(2) hospitality and the protection of nature. She watches over all living beings and helps them find their place in the world. With a warm heart and endless wisdom, she is always ready to offer comfort and support to those who need it. She appears as a majestic woman with soft and soothing(3) features. She wears a green and gold dress, symbolizing nature and prosperity. Her hair is like waves of autumn(4) leaves, and her eyes shine like stars. She is often surrounded by flowers and plants that seem to grow at her touch.

Piko, amazed, exclaims:
« Look, Luma! It's Earth the Welcoming! She is so majestic! »

Luma, amazed, says:
« Yes, Piko! It is blue and shiny. Let's go see it up close. »

After getting close to Earth, Piko and Luma are welcomed by Earth the Welcoming. The Moon, soft and bright, orbits around Earth and shines in the sky, reflecting the light of the Sun. The Moon sings a starry lullaby, and Piko and Luma listen carefully. Then, the Moon gives them a star-shaped key to continue their journey to Mars.

Piko, excited, shouts:
« The Moon gives us a key! It is star-shaped! »

Luma, delighted, says:
« Awesome! With this key, we can continue our journey. Thank you, Moon! »

Piko and Luma, amazed, thank Earth the Welcoming and the Moon for this magical meeting. Earth the Welcoming then shows them a spiral of images representing the diversity(5) of life. After admiring the wonders of Blue Earth and the images of life, Piko and Luma get ready for a new adventure, the one to Mars.

The variety of life on Earth

Blue Earth is then presented by Earth the Welcoming. Life on Earth is made possible thanks to water, air, and a pleasant temperature. The spiral of images is then animated to show majestic mountains, winding rivers, and dense(6) forests.

Piko, amazed, says:
« Wow! It's so beautiful! »

Luma, amazed, says:
« Look, Piko! Colorful butterflies! »

Piko, amazed, shouts:
« And snakes that slide! »

Luma, amazed, exclaims:
« Birds sing too! »

Earth the Welcoming shows them a spiral of pictures showing the diversity of life. Colorful fish and mysterious(7) creatures live there. She tells them about the importance of trees, which produce oxygen and provide a home for animals. She wears a green and golden dress, a symbol of nature and prosperity. The Moon keeps singing her lullaby.

With the star-shaped key in hand, Piko and Luma head towards Mars, the red planet. They discover a fascinating landscape of majestic mountains and deep canyons. Mars, with its reddish surface and mysteries, awaits them to share its legends and well-kept secrets. The two asteroids, curious and excited, prepare for a new adventure, ready to discover the wonders of this red planet.
