📝 Quick summary of key information
Why is Neptune the blue blue and what do her strong winds hide?
Neptune, the eighth planet in our solar system, is often called the blue planet. This color comes from the methane in its atmosphere, which absorbs red light and reflects blue light.
Winds on Neptune are some of the fastest in our solar system. They can go as fast as over 2,000 km/h, which is much faster than the strongest winds on Earth.
These strong winds make big storms and dark clouds that travel around the planet. They help create these amazing weather events.
Neptune is a gas planet, which means it doesn't have a solid surface. The conditions there are very different from those on Earth, making life as we know it impossible.

Neptune the Dreamer and the Secret Winds
Why is Neptune blue and what do her strong winds hide?
Arrival at Neptune the blue
After leaving Uranus, the shy but funny planet (1), the two little asteroids, Piko and Luma, still remember the icy jokes and the cold wind that made them laugh. Uranus, with its tilted path, taught them that every planet has its own mysteries (2) and unique charm. Now, they are heading towards Neptune the blue, the last planet of their journey, with even greater curiosity. Piko, always so energetic, can't sit still, while Luma, more thoughtful, watches the stars while humming softly.
Soon after, they arrive near Neptune the blue. The planet seems to welcome them gently. Its blue rings float gracefully around it. Its deep blue storms, like the ocean at twilight (3), shine with mystery. Piko and Luma are amazed by this beauty.
Piko, curious, asks:
« Why does Neptune the blue have blue winds that seem to float like a long turquoise hair? »
Luma, always curious, explains: « It's because of the methane (4) in its atmosphere (5). It absorbs red light and reflects blue. »
Neptune the blue, amazed by the curiosity of the two asteroids, starts to speak:
« My winds are the fastest in the solar system. They reach over 2,000 km/h. They carry secrets across space. »
Piko and Luma listen carefully. Suddenly, a stronger wind than the others blows. It carries Piko away from Luma. Luma, worried, calls for Piko. But he is already too far away. She decides to follow the wind to find her friend, despite the possible dangers.
After following the wind, Luma finally finds herself face to face with Neptune the blue, the mysterious planet. Rocked by strong winds, Neptune sends them a last drop of blue wind, which holds a magical message: the promise of a return someday... or maybe a new journey to other stars!
The Race Against the Wind
Piko and Luma watch the blue wind drop. It shines brightly. They know this moment is special.
Piko, curious, asks:
« What is in this drop? »
Luma, her eyes sparkling, whispers then:
« It's a message from Neptune the blue. She promises us a return or a new journey. »
Piko, amazed, shouts:
« It's magical! »
Luma, with a gentle smile, says:
« Yes, Piko. Neptune the blue gives us a wonderful promise. »
Piko and Luma, with light hearts and minds full of memories, leave Neptune the blue, ready to share their discoveries with the other asteroids. But who knows, maybe one day, they will meet unknown creatures, like a magnificent star dragon, and discover new mysteries in the farthest corners of the universe. With Neptune the blue's promise in mind, they head towards new adventures, ready to explore even further the wonders of the cosmos (6).
