📝 Quick summary of key information

What's hidden in this old laboratory full of strange glows?

A lab is a magical place where scientists make amazing discoveries. Imagine an old lab full of strange lights... What's hidden inside? In a lab, you can find special tools like microscopes, test tubes, and Bunsen burners. These tools help scientists observe and experiment.

Sometimes, you can see strange glows in a lab. These glows come from things called radioactive elements, like the ones Marie Curie studied. These elements shine in the dark and can be very powerful. They are used to do amazing things, like cure diseases.

Marie Curie was a famous scientist who discovered radioactive elements. She spent her life studying these elements and making important discoveries. Thanks to her, we know much more about radioactivity and its uses.

In a lab, you can make amazing discoveries, like finding new things or understanding how our world works. Scientists spend hours observing, experimenting, and discovering fascinating things.

The Call of the Light Lab

What secrets does this old lab full of strange glows hide?

The Discovery of the Laboratory

After discovering a mysterious door at the back of a museum, Zoé and Tom find themselves in a mysterious laboratory where everything glows(1) softly. As they push the door open, they enter a strange new world filled with strange lights and fascinating instruments(2). Zoé, a lively and precise girl, wearing a white coat that's too long, lab(3) gloves, and always has a notebook open, and Tom, a curious and methodical boy, are immediately captivated by this enchanted place.

Zoé, curious, asks:
« What is this place? »

Tom, amazed, whispers:
« I don't know, but it's magical! »

Zoé, amazed, whispers then:
« There are lights everywhere. »

Tom, pointing his finger, says:
« Look, there is a lady over there. »

Not long after, they approach a lady in a scientist's dress. She greets them with a warm smile. She tells them that this laboratory is a magical place where powders sparkle and instruments click.

They meet a lady in a scientist's dress. She asks them to be her helpers and start a big science adventure.

The First Experiments

Tom and Zoé happily accept Marie Curie's offer to become her apprentices. Their scientific adventure begins under the guidance of the famous scientist. Marie Curie shows them special tools used for amazing experiments.

Tom, intrigued by the sparkling objects, asks:
« What are these instruments? »

Zoé, curious, asks:
« What are they for? »

Marie Curie, with a smile lit up by the green light, then explains: « These tools detect rays(4). They show what we can't see. »

Marie Curie shows them how to observe the rays. Zoé writes down each observation in her notebook. Tom carefully mixes the powders. They discover the chemical reactions.

Marie Curie, with a mysterious smile, starts to explain: « Radium(5) can be taken from some rocks. It is used for amazing experiments. »

After learning to observe the rays using Marie Curie's instruments, Zoé and Tom are amazed by the scientist's discoveries. Their curiosity is sparked, and they can't wait to find out more. Noticing their excitement, Marie Curie then shows them a secret door leading to the Ray Room. Glowing powders shine softly in the darkness, revealing a fascinating invisible world. They are led into this mysterious room, where the powders continue to glow softly. The effects of the rays are observed, and the children are amazed by the beauty and power of these invisible elements. They are told that these discoveries earned two Nobel Prizes(6), one for physics and one for chemistry. Inspired by Marie Curie's perseverance and courage, Zoé and Tom promise to keep exploring and discovering. They now know that science is a fascinating world full of mysteries to uncover. They are encouraged to always ask questions and never stop learning. Another door is then shown to them, the door to the Garden of Noble Ideas, where they can think and imagine new experiments. Zoé and Tom, their hearts filled with enthusiasm, get ready to embark on new scientific adventures.
