📝 Quick summary of key information
Do you wonder why some things float while others sink? It's thanks to a discovery made by a man named Archimedes. He found out that when an object is put in water, it gets a push upwards. This push depends on how much water the object moves.
A boat floats because it is made to move lots of water. This water pushes the boat up, like it wants to lift it. That's why boats stay on top even if they are very heavy.
A rock sinks because it is very dense. It does not push enough water to create enough force. So, it falls to the bottom. Sometimes, an object can be light but very dense, which means it does not push enough water to float.
Think about a plastic ball: it floats because it moves a lot of water for its weight. On the other hand, a rock sinks because it is dense and does not move enough water. This is how Archimedes' principle explains why some objects float and others sink.

Archimedes' Magic Bath
Why do some things float while others sink?
Archimedes' Bath
After listening to the chimes (1) and glowing triangles (2) ring under Pythagoras' fingers, Sarah and Sofiane discover that math can create enchanted melodies. The wise (3) Greek shows them how the lengths of strings affect the sounds produced, revealing the secrets of harmonies (4). As they leave the room, they take with them a small glowing triangle, a souvenir of this musical lesson. Soon after, they find themselves in a glowing garden where strange animals and glowing plants surround them. They see a large marble room in the distance, from which joyful voices are coming. Curious, they head towards this source of noise.
Sarah and Sofiane find a big room made of marble. Floating tools are everywhere. In the middle, a huge marble bathtub is filled with clear water. Archimedes, the little inventor genius, jumps happily in the water, splashing all around him.
Archimedes, all excited, shouts to them:
« Hi, you two! Come and see! »
Sarah, curious about the scene, asks:
« What are you doing, Archimedes? »
Archimedes, very excited, shouts: « I found a fascinating principle (5)! Objects in water get a push (6). This push depends on the water's weight. That's why a boat floats but a rock sinks. »
Sofiane, curious, shouts:
« Is that true? Show us! »
Lifting a small wooden ship, he gives them a carved seashell, containing a clue (7) floating towards their next destination.
The Shiny Clue
Sarah and Sofiane look at the seashell. The light shines brightly. They follow the clue that floats in front of them.
Archimedes, excited, shouts:
« Look! The clue leads us to a new adventure! »
Sarah, curious, asks:
« Where are we going this time? »
Archimedes, curious, says:
« I don't know. Let's follow the light. »
Sofiane, eyes sparkling, exclaims:
« I see a big wooden door. Let's go! »
The door is pushed open by the children, guided by the light of the seashell that illuminates the ancient symbols. Once the door is open, a magical garden appears before them. Glowing plants and strange animals welcome them. Archimedes signals for them to head towards a bright clearing, where a new wooden door opens into a large marble room. In this room, Archimedes goes to a bathtub filled with water, where he lifts a small wooden ship. He then gives them an engraved seashell, containing a clue floating towards their next destination.
